I'm going to be quitting my job within the next couple of months. I will not have any income or health insurance. I do have a place to live and I have a decent nest egg (by no means rich). I have a 401k with some money in it and a mutual fund. Again, I am very much middle class here, but I've been okay about saving some money, but again, its by no means an endless pit. Basically I'm going to be paying monthly all my expenses essentially through my “savings”. I've worked in my field for 7 years, and I am finished with it (it would require a whole separate post to explain). I am going to be okay for a while but I will eventually need to do something. My question is; what else should I know? I do plan to start my own gig with some of the money I saved up (ecommerce related). Is there anything I should do now to help prepare for after I quit? I do have a doctors follow up this month and I'm scheduling my dental cleaning early. I was also wondering about credit cards, specifically business credit cards. Would not being employed prevent me from getting lets say a credit card from any of the big name brand companies? But anyways, any other advice/ tips would be appreciated. I realize what I am doing, and I realize its risky. But I need to do this. The rat race is soul crushing and I owe it to my soul..
