Hey guys. I used to work at a childcare center a few months back. The WORST WORST company to work at. I’m really glad I stood my ground because after I left EVERYONE started to leave. Except the way I left was honestly one of the worst job experiences I’ve ever had. I worked for the admin position in a childcare center. HR told me that in a month or two I would be taking the position of one of the workers who was moving. So I stayed patiently while getting other job offers and rejecting them. Working admin was the worst. I received NO training at all. Parents would ask about so many programs that I did not know about and would have to do my own research even though I let the director know that I need some sort of training. She told me I’ll get the hang of it. Which I didn’t. I then got sick of asking HR for training and followed up to see what’s the progress of my upcoming job which I am very much so qualified for, pays more, aligns with my work history and work ethic but she said the spot was taken. It was taken by a woman with 0 child care experience. ZERO. I then complained and made a scene. But I decided to stay a bit longer as I needed some income and there was going to be another spot opening. I received an email that said they’re finally giving admins training. I go to the training. The worst experience ever. She started to yell at all of us admins for not securing more parents to come to this shitty center. I was furious because the pay was so low, training was shit, and the job was beyond just admin. I think it was my break in t point when they made me clean someone’s dumped garbage outside as if I’m their janitor. I quit then. One of the workers used to mishandle the kids and I complained several times and eventually this girl quit on her own time, the place did not fire her. They treat the workers like shit. Director wanted to fire me because I wasn’t doing janitor work when I’m a fucking admin. When I heard that I called HR and told them that if they didn’t have a spot for me to not fucking use me because no one wants to work as a shitty admin for their scamming childcare center. (They scam the DOE for more money etc I had to find this out the hard way and reported them and left). Fast forward to now, a new employer called my old employer and the old employer from the childcare center told her I’m a hard person to work with. I am not. I just wanted the job I was promised. I did not want to do janitor work. I was not going to get screamed at for losing a potential family because the child care center is absurdly expensive for the parents which isn’t my fault. I followed all the rules besides the ones who step my boundary. I left a horrible review for them. They wanted me to take it down but I won’t because if they’re going to ruin my chances at a new job then I’ll ruin their chances for getting more families to join their center. Fast forward a month I texted my old co-worker to hold on to my paycheck as I will come pick it up from her and not from the director. She told me all the workers quit (except for this old lady who kisses up to the director) so I was like ok no problem I’ll go pick it up from her. I show up and the old lady calls the director r and the director tried to make me sign a written paper that says I wasn’t mistreated. I said no and left. Now job hunting is much harder for the jobs that want to call my old employer 🙁
