Im not sure what I’m looking for out of this post, but for now I’m just venting. I’m 24 and my agency is lacking funds due to loss of clients and hiring more people than we need. I work in PR so it’s not like I’m making six figures. I’m the youngest and least experienced at my agency but have been applauded so much on my work and relationships within this field that I’m in. Even my bosses said that everyone in the firm is in my corner and wants to know the “secret to my success.” I had my annual review where my CEO and VP stated that they want me to stay but they want me to go down to a more entry level position with a pay cut of 10K. I’m torn and just want to quit right now. I like this job which makes it even harder, but the management and other directors make this job a burden and the pay cut is the icing on cake. The only reason I didn’t quit on the spot is because I need the benefits. But the moment I find a new gig I’m out of there.
