I work for a big company, with many office branches all over the country (and over seas). My previous office had to close down, so all the employees were transferred to other branches. After looking at multiple schedules from different branches, I went with the one that ends work at a certain time. (Monday through Friday).
My new manager told me that we might need to add one more thing to my schedule on a Tuesday. I told her I couldn’t do anything after the time of my last shift and that we need to get someone else to do it if they were to open that shift open. She said “but we don’t have anyone else to take it” then added “I don’t know what to say”.
One of my coworkers from my previous branch said they would gladly take that shift if it were a Wednesday. So I relayed that news to my new manager. She just left me on read.
If she asks again, I will tell her no (again).
If she can’t stick to the schedule I had agreed upon when I took their offer, then I will tell her I decline the new contract when they bring it out for me to sign. I am not about to be stuck with someone who is going to pull a fast one on me and being wishy washy on the schedule after it was agreed upon. Our contracts are signed and renewed yearly. (1 year contracts)
