The surgical facility I work at is being forced to temporarily close, should I be compensated?

So basically I’m a surgical tech at this facility in Colorado (non-union) and due to faulty HVAC and humidity issues they have had to cancel cases for the next three days. We are being asked to either use our PTO to cover our wages for these days or simply not get paid. Is this legal and do I have any recourse? I have no PTO as our policy is terrible and I can’t afford to not get paid for these days.
