I quit my job a couple hours ago, I worked housekeeping at a elderly rehabilitation home. I older women with slight dementia fell last night and hit her head “supposedly” according to the nurses and DON. She has a huge lump in her head btw. This women was always walking around and talking to the other residents, watching TV and being friendly. Since I got to work today at 7am, she has been in bed, hasn't talked to anybody, hasn't eaten or used the bathroom. Just laying there. I heard the DON talking to her for 5 minutes when I got there. She was barely responsive and not answering correctly. I heard the DON say, she isn't acting herself, she may need to go to the ER. By, 2:30pm nothing happened. Nobody checked on her, nobody even brought her up, NOBODY DID ANYTHING! at lunch I managed to get her alert fir a moment, she said, my head hurts. I asked do you want to go to the ER, she said sure, yes. Then her eyes rolled back and she went back to sleep. People from activities managed to get a couple sentences out of her, stated the same thing. I took a visitor from another room and had them witness the lump and how she was acting cause I planned on reporting it, people could tell i was getting frustrated, everyone kept acting like it was somebody elses responsibilit. A higher up came up to me about 20 minutes later and told me we needed to talk, I told her we don't need to do anything but get her to the ER. I was told, they have been giving her neural checks and had the papers signed. It's complete bullshit. I was up on that floor all day. Nobody has done anything for her except for that 5 minute talk at 7am, which she was barely responsive. No other check ups where done. This place is neglecting her. I handed her my badge and told her all of this, walked away. I reported it to office of aging.
