If I’m salaried (office work), am I expected to be available on weekends and after work hours?

I’m on a team that basically had 90% employee turnover in 2021 (including management). I joined at the end of 2022 and it’s been mild consistent chaos. Since most of the team is new and/or contractors based offshore, the team is not managed well and communication is bad. There’s a lot of just trying to understand the company and the data, and there are new tools which are being implemented. Basically there’s a lot of moving parts and there isn’t much historical knowledge. I feel pressured to work all the time. My manager will literally be online working at 2am and then be back online at 7am. The data engineers work even more. There is no life balance. I feel guilty saying no to working constantly since I’m salaried and my pay is higher than other companies in my area.
