What’s your take on this? TIA.

I (23 F) was hired in my first job as “A position” with “A salary” and was doing good at it. Late last year there was a change in organization and I was suddenly assigned to the “B position” (with “A salary”) where I have no idea of. I asked my boss if I could get an appraisal, yet they said that I have to be patient and wait for my first year at work which is in November (almost 4 months from now) for me to get my raise.
They also said that I'm still new to the company, that is why. Is it wrong for me to get my salary aligned to the “B position” assigned to me regardless of how tenure or new I am in the company? Regardless of my young age?
