Hi everyone,
This is my first ever job after college, so excuse my ignorance. Been working here for 3,5 months now and decided to switch to a much better job which I got an offer for just a few days ago. Told my boss that I am quitting a months in advance despite the regulation being 14 days (afaik). He was super insistent that I stayed for a few more months and that it would really put him in a difficult position, offered a raise immediately as well. I refused and he immediately wanted to meet face to face to talk it over. He asked numerous times if I had a job offer without his knowledge (do I need to notify him?). I instinctively said no but I am a little scared of him giving me a bad reference (if thats even a thing) or sabotaging my next job offer somehow.
I have a meeting tomorrow for my hopefully next job and I am a little nervous about talking about my current experience. My current boss said it was super unprofessional for me to leave after 3.5 months to which I replied I am giving you a month in advance notice as a show of gratitude. Honestly don’t know what more I can do but I genuinely want out.
Thanks everyone in advance
