I was forced to resign for not receiving a schedule

I was a gate attendant at a state park on the weekends. I called off Friday for sickness. My boss told me it was fine but I needed to get a doctors note saying I don’t have covid so I can return to work. I sent him the note that I could come back to work on August 20th. He gave me a schedule on Sunday which in print said that I would be at work at 1PM. Apparently, he had changed the schedule on Wednesday and didn’t tell me. It was my information that the schedule was finalized on Sunday not whenever the boss said so. It was my information that the schedule was finalized on Sunday not whenever the boss said so. Cut to me 11AM this morning sitting in church with my family and my phone just blows up with calls from him asking where I was. I told my boss that he told me to be there at 1PM on Sunday. This is when he asked to have a meeting with me and HR at 1PM. When I got there it wasn’t much a meeting but rather a grilling. He accused me of lying to him and that I did know when I was supposed to be there. He said that “you know that the schedule is supposed to come out on Wednesday and that if you don’t receive it you’re supposed to contact me.” No, I was told that the schedule is sent to everyone on Sunday. He then went on a 5 minute tyrant trying to demonize me in front of HR. Saying that I fell asleep on the job. Funny, I make sure I can’t fall asleep on the job by drinking energy drinks and sleeping extra before my shift. He then said that I need to resign and he pulled out a blank sheet of paper and made me sign it saying I’m resigning. Is this normal? Did I deserve it
