This is a little bit of a rant and im on mobile so bear with me but im so tired of retail yall.
So i started a new job on monday and ive never wanted to quot a job so quickly. Im the new assistant manager and my store manager is so incredibly nit picky over the smallest things. She says out of hand things like 'parents who say because i said so are abusive and deserve their kids taken away' or 'children are a blessing and a womans duty'. We were having a conversation about autism and i mentioned my boyfriend brother has autism and she called me an ablist for saying he has autism.
Well yesterday when i came in she did a 1 week review which ive never heard of before. She started it off by telling me i cant wear similar clothes everyday and need to shake it up more and my all black wardrobe isnt acceptable. Then followed up by saying she knows i dont brush my hair before coming into work including that day….i had brushed my hair literally 30 minutes before she said that.
After talking about dress code she told me I need to change as a person. How i speak(not like im swearing or saying inappropriate things) needs to change and that i need to change my entire personality as neither of them align with what the company wants.
She then told me i need to stop asking her if she has any tasks for me to do and that i should just know what to. My biggest issue is she has a long list of things of “only she can do” because she doesnt want others doing them wrong…but wont show us how they'd be wrong.
Im at a lost for words here i dont know what to do cause i really dont want to go into work on Tuesday.
