Ex-employer holding 12 months of payments hostage

I have worked for a company online (registered in the US) for about 5 years. My contract was ended without an upfront notice and I have more than 12 months payments held hostage. It has been 2 months since my contract was ended and my ex-employer keeps playing games such as : your timesheets needs recalculation, you will have fees of this recalculation deducted, send a copy of your ID otherwise nothing will be done and so on. I had no “real” work contract just a Google document of “rules” without any stamp or signature or anything else. I am in Algeria and I can't afford a lawyer and I don't know what to do. The company doesn't have a real physical presence. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.
