My brother was fired for not staying an entire extra shift

My brother (17) was recently hired at a restaurant in our rural town. Keep in mind that the restaurant hasn’t even opened to the public yet, he was only being trained. (Trained as a busser, but was only ever actually doing dishes. Fun.) He was fired for not staying after his shift, the exact words in the text were “Sometimes 5pm means 10pm.” They also said his sports schedule wouldn’t work with them. (Which they said was fine before when he was hired). I’m pretty sure there was some kind of child labor law violation going on too. In our state of Michigan you require a work permit to work up until you’re above 17, which my brother was hired without and went through at least 3 shifts. Absolutely ridiculous, never eating at that shithole.
