Tldr; I work at Aarons. I've had people, 2Xs in 2 days, answer the door with guns.. $13.00hr or Aarons shit just ain't worth my life, I have kids and want to see them grow up..
I'm 30. I won't say where I'm from other than rural N.C. I currently work for “Aarons” lease to own. making $13.00 per hour to be a CAA (customer accounts associate), and I have probably been there roughly 30 days. my job is to call the people who owe and when they don't answer essentially go to the address on file and see if the person still lives there and touch base with them , not repo or liquidize anything just what we call field visit, knock on doors.. so, for some reason, the past couple of days, I've encountered people answering the door with firearms. pistols, to be exact. I'm a man of color with drealocks, which in my eyes has nothing to do with anything…however I am in the south.. I'm knocking to do a job. I'm not a asshole as I was a CUSTOMER before I was an employee. I treat people with respect and carry myself with a lot of integrity. I'm a nice guy 'imo'.. I want to quit, but I need to make money for my family to survive.. I feel like I deserve at least $4-$5 more per hour just to put up with this shit.. a HAZARD PAY if you will.. my boss says well your not getting that… idk what to do I'm definitely not putting in two weeks because if this sub taught me anything it's the corpos don't give a fuck about me… I'm super replaceable I know that.. but I want to work here, everything else about this job is fucking cake!! I also need to stand up for myself what should I do antiwork fam??
