Why Americans push kids to become adults so fast?

Hello! Maybe it's the wrong place, but I'm really curious about something. I live in Europe and a lot of times I read stories about kids who just turned 18 or 19, paying rent to parents, working or studying or doing both. Maybe that is happening in Europe too, but in my country I see even adikrs who are 25, living with parents, working and using that money on themselves. They help out if it's necessary, but should it be really mandatory? Is 18 / 19 really the age when kids become pushed right straight into adulthood?
