Job site being remodeled for three weeks, we are told we need to find other hours more or less on our own

In Colorado, might be important info. Kind of a smaller city in a middle of farmland area, trying to be vague here. I work in a small kiosk from one corporation inside a larger store of another corporation. We have known for a while that a remodel was coming, but no information about it until yesterday when we finally got a date. So we have been trying to talk to upper management about our options for where to get hours while the kiosk was closed, but they wouldn't talk to us about it, we couldn't even get confirmation that we would actually be closed until yesterday.

Yes we will be closed, for three weeks (supposedly). And then we are told that we need to work out for ourselves where we are going to be working and what hours we could get for those three weeks.

So am I incorrect in thinking this sounds wrong? I think they should be doing more to mitigate the issue of us not having a place to work for three supposed weeks. But they are acting like they have no say in this whole situation. Our suggested solutions include another same name brand kiosk in another name brand store listing off another one further away but same town, another in a town an hour drive away, and a couple others that I don't know where they are. Next suggestion is another area in the store, but the suggested areas depend on IF they have hours to spare for us, and not areas I want to work in or have experience. Or if we have vacation hours available we can use our vacation hours. For a thing our job made necessary. Or we can just take time off without pay, but we'd have to sign a form acknowledging that we are giving up the promise of working no less than 20 hours a week.

I feel like this is a slap in the face with the way they are going about this, and I wonder how long I should give them before I find my own solutions to this issue. Really tempted just to see if I can find another job nearby, even though I know I won't get what I'm making now in another store, even in the same licensed company, who are having their own labor problems right now.
