There is a passage that says, “If work is productive, it’s even more destructive.” A little later, I found myself watching The Curse of Oak Island. It struck me how these guys obsession with finding lost treasure was spiraling out of control. They have pretty much destroyed the nice little island they purchased just for that purpose. While they move massive amounts of earth around, they only ever find evidence of job sites related to centuries of previous treasure hunters. The rate of destruction has been escalating rapidly since the beginning of the show, and for centuries since the treasure rumor started. They say that one more person must die before they find the gold, but the toll on the ecosystems in that area will certainly be much greater. All for what? Is all of the gold that naturally occurs on Earth gone? BUT HERE'S THE EVEN WORSE PART!!! They are making hella money advertising that show. Multiple spinoffs have been spawned that are equally as destructive and ridiculous. Many many jobs have been created, but nothing of value has been found. And we all sit around watching. Hoping that maybe today will be the day that these millionaire fucktards get a little richer. Each day they do, but most are too ignorant to understand. FOR FUCK'S SAKE THEY NEED TO GO HOME!
