(UK) New employers snuck a Working Time Regulation waiver into my contract, should I be worried?

I start a new job tomorrow, contracted 20 hours a week, but as I was going through my onboarding documents I found a form that, if I were to sign it, means that I waive my right to work no more than 48 hours a week. This is dodgy right? There was also a clause in my contract that states I consent to my property being searched at any time which set off alarm bells. I sent an email to HR challenging this and the WTR waiver, hopefully they respond ASAP cause I start at 9.30am tomorow and I'm not signing shit until I know my rights aren't going to be violated. I'm pissed off because I finally got a job after being unemployed for nearly a year cause I was too mental to work, I got the impression it was a laid back (by admin job standards anyway) place…

I'm pissed off because I finally got a job after being unemployed for nearly a year cause I was too mental to work, I got the impression it was a laid back (by admin job standards anyway) place to work and my new colleagues seem chill, but now I've got them possibly trying to fuck me over before I've even started! Anyone got any advice? I think I might have to walk away if it's too fishy, shitty working conditions are why I've not been able to hold down a job more than 2.5 years and I don't know how much more employment based trauma I can take.
