Paying to Work

It’s official, tomorrow I’ll use the last of my fuel, and I won’t be able to afford to drive to work for a whole week before I get paid again. I work for Restoration Hardware, we sell overpriced furniture to rich people. A single sale could cover my yearly wage. But they didn’t “Do well this year” So I was basically told to suck it up when I spoke to management about cost of living increases. Don’t get me wrong, that’s how I expected the conversation to go, but I felt I had to say my piece. And don’t even get me started on the unsafe conditions and practices we deal with on a daily basis. We are sorely in need of a union and an osha investigation. Rant, over.
