Just accepted a role which comes with a 110% increase in base salary. Only been with my current company for a year but after a fruitless internal search for a promotion, thought maybe another company would entertain me.
I work in the more technical side of finance, and the variance in pay between banks, credit unions, and intermediaries/regulatory agencies is absolutely nuts. I have no idea how one bank can pay (a manager for instance) 55k/year, when the bank across town is advertising 79k/year.
If your current company won’t promote you or raise your pay, somewhere else probably will. Gotta love when the market rewards the individual for a change.
