I told my boss (let's call her Karen) I'm taking a mental health day after lunch. I'm out of leave so I would be taking leave without pay, fine, whatever. She then emails me after work hours and says I'm not authorized to leave and that it will be an absent without leave offense (it's not military but it's an actual accounting code that she LOVES to use). Shouldn't matter because you're not paying me either way but go off I guess?
This is the same woman who made me go get a doctor's note for menstrual pain. Actually. I emailed her the note, but she told me I needed to give it to someone in person so she could “retrieve it personally.” She wanted me to hand a physical copy of a note that was emailed to me to a complete stranger. Bro, the whole damn office doesn't need to know that my coochie hurts. My project manager, bless her heart, said “are you comfortable giving that note to someone?” Lmao FUCK no?????
I turn 25 today and honestly I'm not having it. I'm a big girl, I can rent a car with a debit card now Karen. I'm going to CC equal rights and HR so I can call this looney on her bluff. I already have another job in the same agency lined up, I'm only staying to finish my projects (wow so nice) and getting my last few paychecks so I don't have a gap in my pay.
She knows this, and she hates it. She's throwing an absolute fit. Her whole reasoning for not giving me more leave was “your future with the agency is uncertain.” They bullied me into telling them that I was interviewing, saying I need to improve my accountability and by not telling them what I was doing at all times, I'm violating that agreement.
I've been begging for work for MONTHS, but then I get in trouble for goofing off at work or taking leave since they won't give me any.
Shut the fuck up Karen, I didn't ask.
