A colleague who is untouchable.

Hey everyone, I noticed a colleague at work who has top, middle and lower management wrapped around her finger. I've been monitoring this for a few years now and it has become extremely noticeable. She does not work in my department, but I have to interact with her for certain projects. She is able to overstep the boundaries in terms of her role and expertise and even overrides the subj matter experts, and managers see this, but just laugh it off as “hehe typical Lisa.” (not real name) The problem is that she has been placed on a pedestal (for some odd reason/s) and it negatively affected everyone's workflow unless you do things her way. Hey everyone,

I noticed a colleague at work who has top, middle and lower management wrapped around her finger. I've been monitoring this for a few years now and it has become extremely noticeable. She does not work in my department, but I have to interact with her for certain projects. The problem is that she has been placed on a pedestal (for some odd reason/s) and it negatively affected everyone's workflow unless you do things her way.

There were people who challenged her in the past, but they all lost that battle, including me. Her skills aren't rare, so it can't be the reason why everyone walks on eggshells (including management), it's as though she is protected or knows someone higher up the good chain.

It's just a weird scenario, I'd expect that in a family business, but this is a public company.

Anyone else experience some similar?
