I have worked for a new bakery for 2.5 years. They began as a pop up and quickly were able to open their first shop. The other day I was fired by personal attacks. He told me the 4 recipes I brought from my home were now his property and in his words said “if you want to go there we can go there”, he told me when he’s asking “how you are doing” he doesn’t want to know about my kid or anything personal he wants to know about the task I am working on. However for 2 years he shared disturbing private intimate stories about women he was with. His baked goods are in several small businesses in our small town and he is reaping their support while also talking so much shit on them manifesting them to go out of business because he thinks he is some 25 year old entrepreneur god. The personal jabs he attacked me with, he disrespected me as a mother, a baker, and my self worth. His reasoning for firing me was over “communication” yet when it was my responsibility to apply for farmers markets he took over a month to give me one 6 digit number for applications after reminding him three times. He wouldn’t apply to my messages for 2-7 days and sometimes just never. He has willingly shared many times he has severe memory problems, so when I am/was able to defend myself on very clear boundaries he crossed as well as making situations up in his head…I would call him out with exactly how it went down and his response was “I don’t remember it that way” and then change the subject.
