My partner spent six weeks interviewing for a director position with a global company, six different interviews with managers, the team he would be managing, and the hiring manager. Their last call was supposed to be 30 minutes and it lasted 75, I could hear him laughing and having a great conversation on the call. He was so optimistic.
That was 4 full weeks ago, and they told him he’d hear by the end of that week.
Tonight he got a form rejection email. At 9pm. No reasons, not even signed by an individual. He’s been following up with everyone he spoke with and the recruiter since his last interview.
What the fuck kind of practice is this? Two and a half months of hope and energy thrown in his face. I’m absolutely livid on his behalf. It’s demoralizing and seeing him so sad makes me want to burst into a million bats.
