This happened a few weeks ago but I’ve been pretty depressed since.
I am in a lead position. All year long been having problems with the first person I ever trained trying to tell me what to do (and what she tells me is usually wrong), complaining about every little and being extremely rude to me. Done my best to brush it off but she’s so aggressive and goes out of her way to be this way to me.
Made management aware a few different times but was advised to “kill her with kindness” and “not everyone is going to get along” they seem to like her better than me. The last time I complained about her my main boss and supervisor called me in the office
The very first thing my boss said to me was : ”Would you like to demote yourself back to a normal tech? You seem to complain a lot and stress yourself out”
I said no but was so shocked that I didn’t have much of a rebuttal and couldn’t think straight at the time. The supervisor didn’t really say much and like a week later he gave me a half-ass apology claiming he didn’t fully agree with what the boss was saying
Since then I have not complained once about anything-even stuff that affects the work. My morale is at an all time low and I feel so insulted how prepared she was to demote me
And I guess the boss truly thinks that was a good solution cause she comes out here and says hi to me like normal like that talk never happened
Like I like this job and it’s a niche field not more in the area, and am good at it. But it’s hurtful it seems like the people at the top don’t think much of me
Just the last few weeks I’ve been dreading to go to work after what was said to me. Idk is it time to quit? Or just keep powering through it hoping this feeling fades?
