The latest jobs report in the US now shows for the first time .. 3900 jobs lost to AI. This is the beginning. Now, a good number of people think that this technology is like all of the other tech before.. it’s not. It will create some jobs, but significantly more jobs will be lost.
It’s kind of easy to think that only a few types of jobs will be impacted..software dev, creative jobs, digital marketing for example.. but it’s the acceleration of other tech paired with AI that should be really concerning. AI + 3D print will impact construction and manufacturing. Ai + robotics will impact customer service jobs like hospitality and healthcare. ChatGPT can already replace basic medical advice provided by GP. Make no mistake that when they say “automation” they mean elimination of labor.
Remember most of these advancements have been subsidized by your taxes. The Billionaire class has not “earned” the right to accumulate wealth on Your taxes. Reducing the work week, and minimum livable wage have to be absolute demands.
