Am I being a baby?

So I’m 27, and I’ve had a handful of jobs. Two days ago I started a shipping/receiving position. The hours were specified as 7:30am to 4:30pm with “occasional” overtime. However, as I was talking to the other lady in this position she told me she started in December and rarely gets off before 6 especially in the summer, where I guess more products move so they get more trucks during later hours. And there’s been nights she’s here until 11-12 o’clock at NIGHT. There’s a 30 minute lunch and supposedly two 15 minute breaks I’ve never seen anyone in the office take. And there’s been nights she’s here until 11-12 o’clock at NIGHT. There’s a 30 minute lunch and supposedly two 15 minute breaks I’ve never seen anyone in the office take. Today I had a conversation with my supervisor about the possibility of having a set or limit to my off time, 5:30 at the latest considering I’m going to be starting at 7:30 in the morning and have an hour drive both ways. She said there’s absolutely no chance of that happening, and “most people are happy to have overtime opportunities”. I kindly thanked them for their time and told them I’d have to leave the position. To which she made a remark close to “yeah some women just aren’t cut out for hard work” which I simply laughed at as I shook her hand and left. I would’ve had something to say but my soon to be mother in law who I really love is the head of their HR and I didn’t want to cause any problems for her.

So TLDR; was told it would be mandatory for me to work 2-3 hours of overtime everyday and I should be happy about it so I quit, am I being a baby?
