Hello today I got fired from working at a Santa Claus set where we take pictures of kids with a Santa Claus actor, I’m 20 yo graduated from a one year film college program, moved to Atlanta hoping to get settled, and have my own apartment and such.
I had other jobs where I got fired.
1 at a pizza place because I starting calling out more to focus on my passion which is filming and my studies, but the pay was pretty low so It didn’t end up being such a big deal.
2. That time a burger place fired because “I didn’t learn fast enough ” all I could do was washing dishes(I was actually very good at it) and serving customers but couldn’t work as cashier for example, the place was also kind of shutting down.
Also had another job as a stagehand but quit because I was moving.
And then there is today. I was basically guiding the customers to the line to take pictures, but since it was slow most of the time I ended up having nothing to do and being bored so I would pull out my phone once in a while and they had enough.
Thing that hurt is that it was the first time I was having an “adult” schedule It was full-time six days a week and I thought that I had to get used to working that much even though I clearly don’t want to, but got fired before I could do my last day of the week.
Now I know it’s my fault, that I shouldn’t pull my phone that often during work, but it’s just how it is when I’m bored and have nothing interesting to do(Not an excuse I know) It’s just that all these times I got fired were very short too and I was far from being invested in my work, for me it’s hard to try and do a good job for something I don’t care about, that’s why I want to work on a set one day and/or be an editor or even a Freelancer because I actually have fun doing those things and I try my best to do a good job.
But until then I have to keep a regular job, thankfully my mom is there to support me but when she’s gone and I get fired It’s gonna be way harder to bounce back, what do you guys think? And if you got any advices it would greatly be appreciated so I can improve.
