Am I the only one who feels like?

When you pursue a “creative” career, you're technically selling your soul, or a significant part of your life, since alot of people who get into careers of that sort do it because they figure since they like it, why not just turn it into their grind, as opposed to the usual 9-5 job. At the same time when you try to monetize any type of artistic endeavor (drawing, writing, filmmaking etc) if you want to earn some sort of profit off of your craft, than to some extent your going to have to cater and modify your craft to the personal desires and standards of someone else. Which In some cases may make it to where you end up doing something entirely different from what YOU want to do or communicate in your art Ultimately I feel like when someone says follow your passions as a career path, it's just…

Ultimately I feel like when someone says follow your passions as a career path, it's just another way of duping people into believing they're not still a cog in the wheel, and that if it wasn't for basic necessities, most people wouldn't feel the need to monetize their hobbies and passions.
