Now I will preface this by saying I appreciate getting a raise at all. But I go above and beyond my duties and much work longer hours then my coworkers. We get paid by what we produce for company, I earn my pay but I spend more time working my ass off to do so. I take on a lot of the harder work. I was ready to leave over this and had jobs to back it up. I was promised the difference in pay to stay. This was after telling me I was too valuable to leave and too valuable in my position to move up in company. Even though I have the experience, attitude, ability and already take on the role with out the title basically. I am treated as the role essentially by coworkers.
I was told to have wait for reviews for raise. They were only a few weeks away so thats fair. It was simpler to stay for the same money. I get a very good review. What do I get in return? a dollar an hour. Not even coming close to what was promised. When mentioned I get told thats all they can afford. It’s definitely not the case, I can see all the numbers. Its their choice to maximize their commissions.
My concern was then why was I promised more? I should have stuck to my guns and left now I have to look again. And will no longer take on the additional responsibilities.
When I mentioned this to friends in company they told me I should just be happy I got a raise at all. (They got a yearly raise too).
Feel free to beat me up for “whining” about more money. But I am just looking to see if I am wrong or not in other peoples eyes outside situation.
