And during the opening remarks of the dean, he made the comment that “a college degree opens the way to a successful middle-class life”. “A successful middle-class life?!? Really?!? I both wanted to cry (at the sadness), and to laugh (at the absurdity of it), because this is further proof that college no longer is a guaranteed road to success. Sadly smh.
