I took a position in a school district and it didn’t require an interview. It did require background check, fingerprinting, references etc. Basically I had to sub it a resume, fill out two applications (prelim and a full one), then do all the necessary checks and submit references.
I work as a sub so it’s not a traditional job and people told it it seemed sus there was no interview. It’s an on call position so you get called in or check the website for openings and select any available slots. It’s the biggest SD in the county too, 17 schools and I’m signed up to sub at all of them, so I guess there’s a decent chance of working because I’ve been able to go in two days on a row which was immediately after I started. I use this money to supplement my disability so I don’t need a job that I must work every day at, and I get all school holidays, breaks and summers off which works well with my disability. And it pays into a pension system, which is voluntary for me but I opted in.
So far I’ve really liked it, I get to do a lot of different things like office work, help with attendance, pass out food to the kids, relieve teachers for their breaks, being kids to and from the nurse or other office if necessary etc etc. but everyone I spoke to thinks it’s a red flag if there’s no interview at all so I wanted to know what your thoughts are.
