Are you even old enough to do plumbing?

I’m 24 years old in my 3rd year of my plumbing apprenticeship. I run my own truck now and have a helper that looks like he’s 12. Nearly once a week a customer gets actually upset that I’ve shown up to their home to do work for them due to my age. Once we had a customer open the door and immediately tell me they weren’t letting me touch anything and cancelled the appointment. I understand where they’re coming from. What gets me is all the people that hate on college and say DON’T GO TO COLLEGE, JOIN THE TRADES!! Like it’s the best possible thing to do(it’s not), so I do that, and they still find something to get riled up about. Do they think the company is going to send a 50 year old man with a worn out back to wrestle with and replace your water heater?…

Do they think the company is going to send a 50 year old man with a worn out back to wrestle with and replace your water heater? Not a chance. Or to hand dig a massive hole in your yard to repair your water service? No way. The older plumbers I know have a hard enough time bending down to look under your sink.
