A REAL success story

So the other day I was talking to a relative, and she told me she was proud of me for finally finding “success” in my life. She was talking about the big suburban house and fancy car that I bought because I'm a fucking idiot. This spawned a long discussion about the meaning of success, and probably a nice long break from having to talk to that relative for awhile. The gist was relevant so I'm bringing it here. Ok, for those still stuck with corporate propaganda, having a big house and fancy car is NOT succeeding at life. I realize that for those struggling to pay rent in a ghetto apartment with holes in the walls and a bedroom window that's been broken for over a decade, it really sounds like success. But it's not. Buying a big fancy house and car on credit, is giving thicker stronger chains…

[Vent] if you value cust service peoples sanity please stop using 3rd party booking sites for reservations

Sorry if this type of post isn't allowed but I just needed to get this out cause I'm tired of these boomer fucks not understanding how reservations work I work at a rental car agency, this time of the year we're pretty much booked up every day especially for high demand vehicles like large and premium SUVs, my work has totally shut down reservations due to pretty much no availability, yet these 3rd party scam websites Expedia, Travelocity, priceline & hotwire (seriously please never use these fucking sites if you need to book something contact the source directly) they bypass our restrictions and let people book but unlike our site which requires a phone #, these 3rd party sites don't so when i see one come through I have no way of contacting the person to tell them we're sold out. About 45min ago (the reason I'm posting this) had…

American dream is a lie

Lurking on this sub for a couple of years now.. Thanks to this sub i realized that American dream happens to 1-5 % of people that migrate to USA. Hard working indeed + some sort of luck(which is like lottery).. Quit my dream to go to America as in Europe we are far better on living wage than to US. Not having PTOs, not having maternity or paternity leave, not having social medical protection… don't have any words.. We in Germany, we have unions that make our life easier.. AMA

GOT FIRED BECAUSE DIDN’T SAY HI TO THE BOSS

*A friend got fired the other day, after working a month there, the boss said it was because he didn't say hi to her when she got there, her justification was “if he doesn't greet me, he probably doesn't greet the clients”. Another friend of ours then wrote a letter, and suggested to be sent to the boss. *Hello my MOST WORTHY boss, good evening? I must confess that I'm a bit uneasy for the sad news of my dismissal (of wich you miss didn't even have the COURAGE of firing me in person, and instead sent another of your employees, that probably also suffer in your megalomaniac claws, typical of a coward individual, I couldn't expect less from someone of your kind). I must also confess that I am indeed happy, because finally I am no longer associated from a company that probably is related to some ilegal activities,…

Not Able To Go To The Emergency Room Right Now Without Getting Fired

Health background for context; skip if you want: I have a heart condition that I am barely being treated for/barely diagnosed. I also have POTS which affects my heart and blood pressure. I also might have an arrhythmia. I also take stimulants for my narcolepsy which is just all of it a bad combo. I took my heart meds like an hour ago and I am in a lot of chest pain. My blood pressure is a little high and my bpm is 80 which is actually super low for me. I have tested my blood sugar yet for my diabetes but I assume it’s low. I’m on my lunch break I can’t go to the emergency room or urgent care for an EKG because it would be considered an unexcused absence from my job and we can only have a 5% absence rate in a rolling 90 day period.…

These recruiters and hr teams are a fucking joke…

If I have to fill out work history then why the fuck did you have me submit a cover letter and resume? And I know damn well if I get the job I'm going to have to fill all that out by hand, too. Fuck that and fuck you, if I have to enter information more than once, yours isn't a company I have interest in working for, as you obviously can't even keep simple paperwork and data entry under control.
