I Talk Sh*t In Here, But I Get It.
I know I'm usually the one playing devil's advocate in here but believe me I understand the overall struggle people are living, but what are we going to do about it? Unless the free time gained by your 4 day, 6 hour work week is spent working towards something better (and getting good sleep for once in your life, I get that part 100%) then it is just a waste of time. Spent binging more video games, streaming and all-around screen time. I image if a powerful forum of people were dedicated less to mocking their own oppression, and more about changing the status quo, it could achieve great things before it's management finally breaks down into furry-themed civil war. All I know is they make things far too expensive and difficult for most people to be able to afford the nuclear family experience. 1 house, 1 family, 1 garage/yard/fence/dog/fish…

Hi everyone! I have a question and couldn’t find an answer. I graduated school last year and have been looking for entry level work in IT. I was talking to a manager of a very large gas station franchise on the west coast and she told me they need IT people. I asked “What’s the salary range?” She replied “I’m not allowed to discuss that.” Well, I need to know what the pay is BEFORE I apply. Is she, by law, required to tell me? All I could find were laws about disclosing pay after the applicant has been interviewed. This seems pretty shady to me and it makes me not want to apply. Many thanks in advance for anyone who can clarify this.
Whenever I think about company layoffs I always think about the movie Broadcast News.. probably dates me.. yes I am an old Gen X… Anyway there's a scene where Jack Nicholson's character is lamenting budget cuts and how they have to lay people off because of budget cuts. When someone says well if you took a pay cut no one would have to be let go… And Jack Nicholson's character gives the evil eye and then nothing more is said. That's about the size of it though isn't it?
