13 Months, I received an email from a recruiter for a job I applied for on a companies internal job board. After doing some digging, Up until tonight, aside from ' no response' I believe 3 months was the longest before a response came in. If I don't hear from someone in 2.5 weeks you're crossed of the list. Kind of comical for a few reasons, the length of time and that one of the selling factors was the “highly competitive rate”, which at my current job I make double. I cannot wait to just be done with healthcare.

No Bereavement?
I get our state says it's not required, but to offer no bereavement and make you use PTO if an immediate family member passes just seems so heartless.
Phones in the workplace in Oklahoma
In Oklahoma can an employer force someone to turn in their phone for the workday? And can they lower the base pay and change the pay difference to a bonus that is rescinded if you don't comply with turning your phone in? Have a friend working in OK, and… this just sounds shady AF… but then again I'm in IL where minimum wage is 13 and starting next year 13.50 and guaranteed up to 40 hours of PTO… so just the fact that minimum wage there is still under 8 tells me something about the state… Appreciate any help anyone can give on the subject.
At the time this happened, I worked for a company for about 6-7 years. In many chats with my boss, I expressed a desire to learn new skills and transition into a different role within the department. She said she thought that was great and encouraged me to think about what I’d like to do. She really wanted me to create something I’d really enjoy and would fit my skill set. After a few weeks, I had come up with what was essentially a job description for a role our team needed and would actually be very useful for the boss. She really liked it and said she’d look it over and “think on it”. Several weeks go by and every time I inquired about it she would say she hadn’t had time to look at it or some other blanket excuse. A few months go by and all the…
Job interview today
I’ll keep this short and simple but I went in for a job interview today but I just got out of feeling like crap. The owner was just so mean, I don’t understand how you can run a business and expect good service if you’re just going to be unprofessional. Trying to work out schedule times, I would rather work in the mornings in which she had asked what times would work for me and she legitimately scoffed at me. She would just do that whenever I asked a question or mentioned something about the position I applied for. Idk I just found this subreddit and felt I needed to share. I’ve been looking for a job for such a long time; just feel like losing hope.
It's not something optional, I just have to give rides to 3~5 coworkers who live near my town and don't have cars. I get money for the gas fill-up, but it's annoying and I don't understand why I have to do this.
My company recently went through layoffs and budget cuts resulting in a 10% decrease in my total compensation. Now they are making changes and increasing the workload significantly with fewer staff. When I voiced my concerns on this increase in responsibility and decrease in compensation I was told “there's no real change in workload just a change in scope” smh. When I insisted there was more work with less heads I got told “it could be worse, the rest of the company is still laying people off so I should be grateful to have work.” I have a meeting with my manager about this but don't really know what to say in response to these statements when they inevitably come back up. Any suggestions?
Just got fired and I feel free
I got a few grand saved and I’m ready to start a new career in medical sample management, hopefully someplace without all the mandatory “fun” of the last place. Anyone else here have autism and struggle with workplace socialization? I had a panic attack during my office’s last “fun” meeting when we were all supposed to be getting to know each other and I had to remember how most of my family is dead and I really don’t have anything going for me right now. They really didn’t like that I was crying and “disturbing the other workers” so they just got rid of me like trash 🤷️
This is why I’m Anti-Work
My ego blew up today. Complete cranked out a Motoman 3 Robot Cell from an Absolute trash state that “ran auto” at 80% speed to an optimized auto at 100% without a single issue on the robot side. It basically can't run auto for shit when I started this Tuesday. It won't achieve cycle time, and it clips tooling everywhere, the only process which ran auto was the normal welding process, none of the other decisions or processes are done, and some reject/red rabbit paths are taught but not optimal. Job structures had to be changed and completely redone. The project manager came down to me and started having a meltdown saying he thought it would be a quick job and started jabbing people for “standing around and doing nothing” and “Some people *take* their fucking time” Guess what. I've done my fair share of fucking around, but if we…
Long story, short: While at work I encountered a situation with another individual, who doesn’t work for my employer, and it made me feel pretty uncomfortable. I asked my supervisor for advice on the situation and told me to handle it like normal and don’t deter from the standard operating procedure. I attempted to explain that I was uncomfortable with the situation but my supervisor just kept interrupting me and rephrased my words to make it sound like I* was the problem in the situation. I repeatedly tried to explain the potential lawsuit we could receive and the questionable legality of the circumstances but I was just repeatedly interrupted and told to go do what I was told. I finally went and did what I was told after a couple minutes of trying to argue further. The situation left a bad taste in my mouth, and other employees present are…
