you are an entitled wagecel
bosses arent entiled to give you 15$ just because you are a nice guy. you are expected to work hard and be friendly for free. you should have just gone to college maybe showered and drank some water before even asking for a raise.
Aint that the truth
I can't be the only one infuriated by this. Post after post, story after story. Worker receives bad news – their relative died, their child is in the hospital. Or even something simple as wanting to take their legally mandated vacation days. The moment the worker needs to step away from the job to deal with their situation, they are threatened with termination or a reprimand. I had to attend my grandmother's funeral for 2 days. He didn't even offer condolences. He simply said “Okay. I'll have to cover you”. He certainly didn't seem happy about it. But he was more upset over the fact that he would have to work those 2 days. I felt so offended over that. Why do bosses think this is even remotely acceptable? Moreover, how could they be that much of an inconsiderate asshole to threaten their worker, all because they can't complete their…
Got a new job that actually cares
I wanted to share a positive story on here for a change of pace. I just started a new job in sheet metal fabrication last Monday. I gotta say it's been pretty fantastic. Everyone has been very supportive of my limitations due to being out of work for 3 years. Even the manager reminds me to take frequent breathers and rest my legs as it is not busy. He's even giving me the opportunity to come in late as I'm still getting used to an early shift.
DHS employees receive the same leave benefits as all state employees, which is four weeks of paid maternity leave during the first 12 weeks after birth or adoption of a child. Paid paternity leave is not available.
What would you tell your bosses?
So I have been in residential maintenance for a bit over a year now and I have ran into 2 separate issues where I felt safety was a concern. Last year there was a unit that needed to be “turned”, upgrade appliances and make sure it's livable. This unit had mice and their droppings all over it. I'm talking in the fridge in the walls and just everywhere. This most recent unit has substantial mold growth. We are now in the unit tearing out the drywall, vinyl and carpet. It seems like they just want us to use moldx and call it good… I'm really speechless on the lack of professionalism from just these 2 units… So yeah what is your opinion?
