I work at a company where everyone seems to be at this woman’s feet. She is aways doing shit all and mostly is on her phone or does very minimum work! Sometimes she does not even know the basics of her job! Well today she complained about me saying I am a jerk because I was being disrespectful to her and that she does not understand why I do not like her “as she did nothing to me”. My other colleagues think I am jerk as well. The situation here: They all call her “princess”, I am not kidding, they call her princess. They get what she needs even if that is a candy in the vending machine. She runs these guys, which to me is very sad. I know they are doing this because they are trying to sleep with her, but its so CRINGE! Well I did not…

So, I've been to the states for the first time and there are a lot of places where you pay before you even get your stuff (especially coffee) and I was wondering: how much tip do you give in that case? There's no real service provided, except for the making of the coffee itself. I just don't know, because where I am from, you would just round it up to next even number, no worries wether it's 20 cents or 1 Euro max. But I don't want to insult anybody and obviously show solidarity to workers as well. I just felt 20% was a bit much…

You know the ones that pretty much say if you were born before 1985 don't apply here because you are all lazy and entitled etc etc. People regularly use such offers as their own personal TED talk but not only is it insulting but it is also condescending. As well as counterproductive because how likely is that you can keep a business going with only employees that are at best 45+?

Disclaimer: I know this probably isn’t the best sub for this because this place wasn’t started with this sort of question in mind but me not being very active in other work related subs and knowing there are sometimes people in here with this sort of knowledge I decided to try it here. Back story: So work had me wearing around a device that measured decibels. I was playing with it and saw that the area I work in averaged 94.7 decibels over a 8h period. I did some looking around and seen that OSHA requires no more than 8 hours of exposure to 85 decibels (or is it 90?) I also see where it scales up strangely. So I work for a security company who is subcontracted through a huge appliance type store. I pretty much do security for a lumber yard around back. Yesterday I had to call in due to severe stomach pains which persists today as well. Well my supervisor told me last week that she let her phone get shut off so her boyfriend would stop bothering her. So I called the boss above her. I tell him what's going on and that I would try to come in the next day if I feel better but I have to wait until Monday to see a doctor. He tells me that I need to get ahold of my supervisor (he knows her phone is off) or that I need to show up because “it costs him $300 a day to put someone else in there just so I can lay up at home.”…
