I was humiliated at work.
I work in a hospital. When I first started, I was humiliated at work. I ask this tech if I could signed off of my orientation packet. He yelled at me, swore at me all in front of my coworkers. I felt so embarrassed and humiliated and it something I will never, ever forget. I wanted to cry so bad and I felt a panic attack coming on. This nurse decided to join in. She started to yell at me too. She said “if you’re off orientation and you fuck up, I will be fucking pissed at you.” I knew she had a reputation for being mean, but I never thought I would experience it personally. Then another nurse joined in (she started the same time as I did, so I’m not sure what she had to say) she rolled over and said “you don’t want to be off orientation.”…
Just frustrated
So long story short I just started my apprenticeship as an electrician and it’s not going too well. I have no problem with the work itself but I’m genuinely disgusted with the hours and schedule I’m on. I basically work 10+ hours 6 days a week, while commuting over an hour back and forth (more than 2 total) everyday. I have no energy or spare time to be myself anymore. Even on Sunday’s when I’m off I basically lie around and sleep cause of how tired I am from the week. I can’t believe that at 19 my life is headed toward this shit. And the worst part is that I have no one to talk to about it. All these zombies at work just love spending all their waking hours working away for minimum wage cause they got nothing better to do with themselves. Even if I just worked…
I know it sounds stupid but I saw a recient post about making the employees say no to unions, it feels so stupid to think that a single informational video would stop you from wanting better work conditions, if you don't want unions then do your funking job and make the employees have reasons to don't join a union, if you want loyal employees you have to be loyal to them since at the end of the day if they didn't work for you you wouldn't have money or manpower to do anything, if you want me to stay at your corp make me doit , make the reasons to me to stay, since is a free market and I will go to the highest paid, to the best work conditions, and i believe that more workers should think like this, if we as a working class make the demands…
Corporate policy specifically states that workers cannot sit down on the job outside break periods and lunches, this includes cashiers who literally stand, mostly stationary, in a 2×2 cube the entire day and handle groceries. I am a cashier and could do 90% of my job while sitting and I guarantee it would be better than being in pain and discomfort almost every single day because of constant pressure on my legs and feet. The stated reason for this, frankly, evil policy is it makes workers appear more “professional” to the customer. To which customer? To an asshole who hates minimum wage workers no matter what? To the housed boomer who sits on a pile of money and thinks nobody wants to work anymore? To corporate management who have no idea what goes on in their own stores which are running in spite of their rampant mismanagement and greed? I…
