Haven’t heard back from interviewer, what should I do?

I had my interview with the manager for the job I applied a month ago. I waited an hour for my interviewer to show up. We conducted the interview and he told me he needed someone for a morning shift, to which I said I'm available any day including weekends. He then said he was going to send me an email to fill out background check information so he could review it and eventually put me on his schedule. It's been a month since our interview and I called him three times asking to send me the email and he never did even though he said he would. Idk what I'm supposed to do but I'm sad about it because I really wanted to work for the guy and I feel bad about possibly having to call him to tell him I'm no longer interested in the position.

“Job adverts” is the most incomprehensible nonsense genre to exist

I'm currently looking at copywriting and editing jobs, and every single advert I read just vaguely states that I'll be: “a vital part of the content development and strategy team” or “Overseeing, conceptualizing, and producing content for all digital channels ensuring customer engagement” Yes, I know this field is about creating digital content, but as someone straight out of university and with zero experience apart from the assignments I've done as part of my education (Media Science bachelor), I would honestly just love a very specific overview of how a workday at this company usually plays out. And I know this isn't just the case for this field of work. It's just how the genre is; completely vague and uninformative nonsense. I wish we could just start posting videos of what the former employee did throughout their day. An 8-minute video maybe. One minute to show each hour or something

Big bank company gave everyone on the retail side a raise, and screwed over half of them.

I work for a big bank in corporate America and I’ve been with the company for 5 years. I’ve worked my ass off for this company and was promoted to the next level quickly, received an immediate raise for the new position, and yearly I’ve gotten a meritorious raise for my work. All in all I was making about 5-6 bucks an hour more then the position below me. Then said big bank decided to give everyone in retail a raise. The position below me now makes 1 dollar an hour less then I do. They did not take any of my raises into account and now I’m at the starting rate for my position again. Their response? “You got a raise too!” (A dollar.)

Food Lion Cutting Hours Despite Worker Shortage.

I have worked for Food Lion for about 6 months now. During my employment, I have steadily lost hours, originally getting about 30 a week. This week, I originally received a grand total of 0. Only after talking to my manager did I receive about 12. My manager then told me “to put it into perspective for you, I had 1,100 hours to distribute amongst about 50 front end workers however I saw fit, and now I have about 750 to distribute amongst 40. The only thing I can tell people who are looking to get more hours is to start looking for another job.” I shook his hand and quit. I think I did the right thing, but I don’t know where to go from here. I wasn’t making money there, but as of right now, I’m out of the job. I live in an area where the pickings…

Anyone else getting sick of the war rhetoric about how we “all” have to sacrifice?

It's hypocritical. The working class has already been sacrificed for the past forty years. We all know the sacrifices required won't touch the well to do. Russia tried to unite its disjointed country with such rhetoric back in 1914 and it resulted in taking part in a World War, and then in a revolution and civil war.

Shouldn’t the AntiWork movement and the OpenSource movement walk more hands in hands? I’m sure there’s a big intersection already, but I feel we’re not conscious enough of how they positively interact.

In very simple terms, big tech corporations (though many offer seemingly “free” products) make huge amounts of money out of products which often are available (but way less advertised) as an open-source counterpart. This huge amount of capital taken out of the common people is then used to invest in assets, inflating them and outpricing us. Conversely, the open source movement is about working for a common good, empowering both developers and users by keeping the product of labor from being capitalized and funneled into billionaires. *Sorry for my English, as it's not my first language.
