I haven’t been 100% been confirmed with IBS yet but the private GP I went to made the assumption that I do have IBS after pressing around my stomach and abdominal area, I had symptoms for the past 12 months or so as well (kinda put off going for a long time for some reason) Been treating it with Noxacid and Innerhealth Plus IBS Support recommended by doctor. You know the drill, Just constant stomach aches and pain throughout a day and night worse at a night preventing me from sleep then adding stress to “oh shit I’ve gotta get up for work” then having my mind just go on and on then just a lot then preventing me going to work with barely any sleep and a painful stomach. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had problems with not just work but also coming to a diagnosis, because…
I am so tired of my boss not communicating to me when things happen in the store. I guess one of my coworkers broke his foot yesterday so she had to rearrange the whole schedule to fix him not coming in today. I got a text last night from said coworker at midnight when I was sleeping. Boss made no notes, no effort to communicate to me about this, so now I am alone in the store until the gods know when! This is after you gaslit me and tried to punish me for going to HR for you protecting a sexual harasser because you are from the same country. I am mad and cannot wait to leave here!
Fuck my job & it’s maternity leave rules
I'm 23 weeks ftm. Just started a new job, it's a billing office for insurances. They hired me knowing I'm pregnant. They asked me how long I'm taking off for maternity leave. I said probably 12 weeks. (Since I want to be with my NEWBORN, and my husband only gets 3 DAYS OFF OF WORK FOR LEAVE). And they're like “yeahhhh ummmmm its only 6 weeks if you deliver vaginally, 8 weeks if you have a c section” . Ummm excuse me? Ur not paying me anyways. How are you going to tell me how long my mat leave is? 🤔I just spent 9 months creating a human life, I get to now spend time with that human life before coming back to work as your SLAVE…. seems weird.
What I mean is does how many working years a person has left affect whether you'll hire them for a position? For nearly 20 years my defaulted loans and living paycheck to paycheck has meant that going back and getting my college degree just wasn't fiscally or physically possible. Now I'm working a job where I could pay off my loans and apply for more. Or even making payments for school. However I'm 42. If I were to start in the fall I'd probably finish a bachelor's around 46. Would it be worth it or would I just be adding a lot more debt to my life to find my job prospects no greater than they are now. In case it matters I've spent a long time working in call centers doing office work and would be getting a Bachelor's in Business Administration if I did this. I'm just curious…
Should I tell his wife?
I mean I get it I “technically” called out of work, but we are dealing with a huge snow storm over by the east coast. Even if I got to work on time who knows what it would have been like afterwards. It's not like I am calling out because I feel like it or whatever. I know I shouldn't feel bad for calling out and for a legitimate reason, but it kind of just bothers me I feel like it should be more than just a call out if it's for safety concerns. I know some areas are just getting rain right now, but my area shows a foot of snow and it's coming down hard here.
So they’re pretty much new staff. I’m the most experienced one apart from the manager. I work as a barista and cashier and we’re all basically in the same position. They will ask me permission to do things though. Like: Can I smoke a cigarette? Can I do this and that? And at some point two of them were together and I said: “Guys, please, you don’t have to ask me anything, I’m literally in the same position you guys are, I’m not a supervisor nor anything. If you want to ask me that is okay, but if you need someone to allow you to do something, I’m not that person, I’ll always say yes, because I’ve no right to tell y what to do or not” I mean, I was friendly and everything. If I was a supervisor I’d act different. My manager told me I’m the oldest in…
