As an American and someone who has worked since I was 18 years old and now late 30s… been through now two recessions… like what is the ending goal here? We work till we die? I work all week full time and then I do chores on the weekend (or weekdays if I’m not exhausted) and repeat. At least with countries with free health care you could work part time and have more time for family. But the older I get the more it just saddens and angers me being here in America. And I really think it’s a large contributing factor towards my depression. Edit to add: It would be one thing if we worked all this time and made good money but it’s not even that. We live comfortably for the most part but not really able to save a whole lot.

I admit I am reaching and have no data to back this up, it's solely wandering 5am thoughts: ​ Background: we see in the news cycle talks of a possible coming recession, and major employers announcing massive layoffs (despite record profits) Now, history refresher, if you all remember living in the aftermath of the 2008 recession, when ppl were lining up just to work fast food for 7-8 bucks an hour, which had a domino effect stagnating wages up and down the tax brackets (which, until recently, continued), and during this decade that followed employers had their pick of employees and could afford to freeze wages… oh yeah also military recruitment was at an all time high just as we were in the peak of 2 overseas wars (whereas now it's an all time low) Obviously just being in this subreddit we know employers having been spoiled by the post…

I drive for Uber and Lyft and since both platforms have gone on the stock market they have both been making the driver experience worse. Lyft has altogether taken away our ability to see how much a passenger pays for a ride, but we can still talk to our passengers. Recently I gave a ride to a passenger where I was getting paid $12.78, and my passenger just so happen to mention he was paying $50 for the ride. Then a couple days later I get a ride going to another state, and I'm getting paid $35, while my passenger is paying $136. When I signed up for both companies they took up to 25% of the fair and now they Lyft is taking up to 80%, that I've seen.

It's that time of year where I'm looking upgrading the old girl. Any suggestions for minimum size? I'm think it has to be no less than 60M, anything less and you as well be in a canoe. Any suggestions welcome. Tia.

Have you ever been in same situation? I feel bad and really weird and I am telling myself if its a bad weird thing to feel bad in this situations but life creating sometimes unpleasant situations which are only for specific period of time and no one is perfect. That's life. One time we are up and on another we are down. On the other hand I am glad that I am with my family cause lot of my friends and young people almost lost contact and touch with their families.

Okay so it's pretty clear from the title that I'm sorta frustrated with this. This is one thing I hate about people who get it easy in life. I mean I'm not mad that they get nice things I am just mad they act like they got it bc they are better than others. So five years back, in college I had a girl who's parents were rich af tell me that the reason I got bullied and made fun of in a college full of rich AHs (I got in a fancy college through scholarship while their parents bought them their seats) is bc I don't try hard enough. So I didn't usually have chanel purses to carry with me to college like them and couldn't drink Starbucks everyday. I dropped, graduated from a cheaper college and finally started learning skills that would get me a decent job. The…
