Recall seeing a post here which said sex work is work and being a landlord is not. But if folks are anti work should you not be supporting living off your investment as a land lord does as opposed to selling your body for work? I understand not everyone here feels that way but seems to be a major trope.

Asking for a friend whose boss is saying she cannot use bereavement days unless there is proof of a funeral, a death certificate AND documentation that the deceased person is indeed a family member. I’m very curious because this flat out sounds fake to me, especially considering one doesn’t usually receive a death certificate for a month or so after the death. Any lawyers care to weigh in? She’s a teacher btw.
Notice period
So I resigned just a few days ago from my current company and usually they’ve a 2 month notice period but because they’ve scarce work they told me they can let me go without serving it. My future employer asked me about my notice period and I informed them 2 months. Now, will it create an issue with my future employer if the date on my experience letter is obviously less because of not serving the notice period?
Minimum wage raises
So my state has voted to increase the minimum wage to $15 dollars over a few years by 2026 I think. As someone who only makes $20/hr Is it reasonable to expect a raise, along the same lines, that I was worth double minimum wage in 2022? So $15/hr should put me around $30/hr I realize getting to 30 is probably not going to happen. but is it fair to be asking for something more than my current pay?
Pressure to go above and beyond
In my 1:1 meetings, my manager keeps telling me I need to pitch the client more projects. I just want to do the bare minimum. I used to work overtime everyday when I first got the job but now I sign off at 6 on the dot. I hate the constant pressure to go above and beyond
We may be poor, but holy shit, we don't want our lives to revolve around work. Especially if we hate our boss. Which we do, a lot. We still have things we need to take care of on our off day. I just don't understand how these people think. They take their 2 days off and even have days where they go home early. Also, why am I broke despite working 50 hour weeks for you?
