I get 5 days in a row off! Anything is possible! Of course they’re against my bosses wishes. Right now he thinks I’m only taking 4 days but he’s in for a surprise with me planning to call in the 4th day with the last day being my normal day off. Only 2 of them are paid & the others aren’t. Good enough for me. Never in my 12 years of working food have I had more than 2 consecutive days off or PAID days off at all. I have nothing planned other than healing from oral surgery. I can’t fucking wait to have a break from my coworkers. Hell yeah! There’s hope yet!
I'm currently working a full time job as an analytical chemist, but I want a second job, remote position that is one of those “work at your own pace” kinda gigs. Considering creating a new profile on LinkedIn and Indeed and tailoring my resume to only highlight my customer service and administrative experience, leaving out all the sciencey stuff. But I'm a bit worried about getting “found out”.
Promotion related?
Hi, just a question. I have been waiting to be promoted since last year spring and summer, but kept being passed over for another person. I was tired of this and handed in my notice letter recently, but they sat me down and made a deal with me and said “We don't want you to leave and if you don't leave, then we will help you progress and maybe consider you to be promoted to be promoted”. Should I just resign or agree with what they say? Thanks for the help,
So our workplace is very no moral as you can say. I decided to build some team spirit. I got motivation quotes, starting talking to the team about how we are doing a goodjob, and just being over all positive. It was working. I even brought coffee machine for everyone and everyone is so happy using it and just more joyful. I also made cookies for the team. Well a month later my boss called me in the office and starts telling me I need to stop doing these things as we need to remember our place here. He says “you are making people think this is a hotel, its a place of work” I shocked to hear this. I told my boss so you are telling me that basically to stop spreading joy in the team? His reply was even more shocking.. “what I am saying to you is…
Me and my wife are struggling, we both live in chronic constant pain and are drowning in debt because no one taught us how to deal with money. I have a hard time working because of my service connected disabilities and this is pretty much the end of the line for us. My truck is about to get repod and our electricity is about to be cut off. I don't want to listen to my wife cry and say she's given up anymore. listening to her lose hope, and wanting to end it all. she is my everything, and I don't care about anything other than making sure she is ok. please.. I hate asking for money but there's nothing else I could possibly do. we need to start saving and we want to do good with our money but everything goes to bills and ridiculously high interest rates on…
I included at TL;DR at the bottom. At my job, there is a day crew and a night crew. We all work in an office part of a larger facility, but day crew does most of the “on the phone” people work, while night crew handles billing related functions. All of night crew is part time, while a few members of day crew are full time. Recently, one of the day crew members quit. Their position is being replaced by one of us from the night shift, and since it’s one of the few part time positions during the day, our management has decided it will be filled by seniority rather than an actual interview. It’s between me and someone below me in seniority. That person will only get the position if I say no (although given what I’m about to explain, no one particularly wants to take the position).…
