Okay so I’m based in Australia and I work for a company where we have what are called ‘clinic runs’ where we deliver stock and paperwork for the treatments we do. When I got the job having a vehicle and license was a requirement. Unfortunately right after Christmas my engine intake bit it and it’s going to cost $1200 to fix/replace. I haven’t got that kind of money lying around as things have some up unexpectedly that I’ve needed to pay for (cats cremation, debts, bills etc) and I’m even trying to sell my belongings to get the money together. Now I work my ass off for the company, managing nurses, appointments, other patient services staff and doing the compliance side of things which was heaped onto me and I’ve had 30mins of training for. Do you have a job now?
Is anyone in this group not having a job? I just want to understand if it's for real that people here are refusing the job idea in the modern world and don't have typical jobs? Or they have jobs and they complain about them?
An email from my general manager- which was then followed up with a hour and a half meeting which one of the core morals was how we are all replaceable- lets just ignore the fact people here are dropping like flies and you wont stop complaining about how you dont have enough people to work here.

America’s worker rights.
Something I’ve gained from this sub, is how I don’t think I would ever move to America to pursue a job. The workers rights of America for a western country, seems crazy to me. I don’t think the U.K. is much better, but I believe I’m more fortunate in terms of worker rights than the average American. Respect to you Americans, hopefully shit gets better.

So I have plenty of employers that want do background checks, but I don't know what they see? Anyway I can pay for the standard industry background check? Has anyone done this before? I'm trying to stay ahead of any concerns. I have no criminal background but I have moved recently which is a concern.
