Should I ask for comp time for having to work a weekend as a salaried employee?

I have a trade show for my job coming up that runs from Friday until Tuesday the following week in a large downtown city. I have done this show before but our company usually gets us hotel rooms as most of us do not live downtown and we have to be there around 7:30am. I was okay with this when we were able to stay in the hotel and sucked up working through the weekend with no additional comp time or pay. However, now I have to drive an hour each morning for the show on what is supposed to be my days off. Also, the salary does not justify doing this at all. I am not a high level employee. My question is… Should I ask for comp time for the two days that I will be working that are usually my days off? Please let me know if…

Manager sees nothing wrong with not having enough money after 50 hour week. Told me to just start a side hustle.

I just don't get it. Are we just expected to slave away 60+ hours every week of our life? When managers who pay employees like this try being friends with their employees, do they actually believe their employees like them at all?

Former employer probably threw my W-2 in the trash

So for reference my former employer was an extremely unprofessional CPA firm with about 12 employees. Being a CPA firm they are well aware of the laws regarding W-2s. I quit January 2022 and did qualify for a W-2. They didn’t send my W-2, I contacted ADP and there was a W-2 for me but my address was just the office address instead of my address they had on file. I’m assuming ADP sent it to them and they threw it straight in the trash. A few people told me to report to the IRS. I originally was gonna do nothing but not providing a W-2 is illegal and the boss was such an asshole I honestly wanna report this shit out of principal.

I can’t understand people that love hustle and especially if they shame you that you don’t.

I just hate when hustlers shame us normies that we don't look nonstop for new jobs and opportunities. Like wtf I am comfortable where I am. I also hate the hyped hustlers that need to do 5 hobbies to feel worthy and intelligent and then shame people that just need peace in their life how they don't do shit, have no hobbies … like.. sorry that I am just happy the way I am ???

Boss is not giving me HR’s email

I asked my pharmacy director (boss) for the email to HR so I could ask them for a copy of my W4. She says she will look around the office first to see if we have a copy because thats what they will ask us to do first. Then hours go by so I ask again and immediately she gives me a copy. Then I had more questions for HR about my tax info so I asked for their email, so then she asks what I need so she could get me the right email. So I said it’s about my tax withholding. And instead of giving me the email address she tells me where I can go edit my information. What is happening? Nobody else in the office knows the email to HR and my boss isn’t giving it out. Is there anything I can do? I find this…

I don’t just want to quit…

I want to lock my bosses inside their own taproom and light it on fire. I’ve worked at this brewery for a while now and I’m already moving so I’ll need to quit soon. The owners of said brewery have always been assholes but lately have really stepped it up. As a “taproom lead” I emailed the owner who my point of contact for any taproom issues about a plethora of problems including some of the other owners being problematic towards employees (people straight up wanted to walk out) and the ball-less bastard NEVER responded to me. He was able to respond tp my coworker who gave their 2 weeks with an email telling them “ thanks for all you’ve done, 2 weeks won’t be necessary bring in you key tomorrow” now the shit head owners are covering this employees shifts because we are already short staffed. We all hate…

I’m a remote worker being targeted by upper management. How can I protect myself?

Going to try to keep this as short as possible. My company has a history of finding reasons to let go of employees that work remotely. Sure, it is no longer company policy that workers cannot work remotely, but due to the culture, upper managers will look for reasons why certain remote employees are not “working out” and I fear I am next in line. My question is, how can I ensure ahead of time that they cannot fire me without paying me out unemployment? I figure there’s more I can do now before they fire me then there is after, but who can I even talk to about it? Are there some kind of attorneys that will help? Or at the very least, any kind of free resources? I can answer more specific questions if you think it can point me in the right direction but I really don’t…

We no longer do annual reviews…

The head of HR said they are demotivational and serve no real purpose. The logic is your manager shouldn't wait a whole year to bring up wins and opportunities. We still get an annual increase.
