Was in interview waiting room for 10 minutes. Emailed recruiter. Said that I am leaving the waiting room now and to please let me know when we can reschedule. They write back and say they're in a meeting that ran late and will call me directly ASAP. I say great, I'll wait for the call. 1 minutes before the scheduled end time, I am on their scheduler rescheduling the interview for another time on their calendar that is open for another day completely. I am sure this is done to death, but I seriously hate how people cannot be sick anymore. The expectation is to just WFH if the job uses a computer. No recovery You cannot be sick or quarantine or recover without it almost be expected of you to just perform the work at home. Only expection is if you're that sick. the ideal place to do nothing? First of all i would like to say that i've found this community very interesting since i myself had some struggles with the work culture in the past. Nowadays i've been lucky enough to find a meaningful job ( i work with legal help for poor people who needs expensive medications) but after some years, even this is draining my energies, so, lately, i've been considering the idea of heavy investing in the financial market so i can quit work and do whatever i want whenever i want. What do you guys think about it? Does it worth to do some sacrifice and live in econ-mode for some years to be “free”in the future?

I’m so angry right now. My fiancé was told by the owner way back in October when he first applied that if he emailed his resume they’d hire him. Emailed and got told there were no open positions at the moment but at the end of the semester some people were quitting and they’d hire him. Fine. We wait until the end of the semester and contact them again. They say there’s a position open and they’ll call him back. We never hear back. We try again in January just checking on the application. Fiancé goes in for an interview, is told he got the job and the owner will call him next week about when he’ll start training. Great! I recently started work at a place we’ll call The Company. For my work with The Company, I have to drive (commute + a distance) miles round trip once a week, which The Company promised to reimburse all but (commute) miles of that trip at the California mileage rate. According to The Company’s own travel policy, mileage should be paid at the next pay period. The first time I submitted mileage, I received a “marked as paid” with my mileage being changed to 0 miles. I contacted my boss to complain about this, was forwarded to HR, and promptly ignored. Fast forward a month, and I’ve submitted two mileage reports. One of them was marked paid for this pay period, but I still have not been reimbursed for either. I had an imprompt meeting with my manager today. I started a new part time job last november doing sales in pretty much a call center. I was desparate for a part time job so I signed. Fast forward and today my manager wanted an inprompt meeting with me. I had made some small mistakes and was unsure if I was fit for the job. I live in Norway, its very expensive here making 175 NOK an hour (17 dollars). To but that into perspective, cleaners, who many consider a low skilled job is paid minimum by law 20 dollars an hour. I guess my I dont give a fuck attitude has caught up with me and I fully expect to be let go when my trial period ends next month. My dilemma is, how on earth can managers expect us to care paying us scraps? I sat there explaining…

We really need to end this whole billionaire thing, heck remove the hell 100millionaire thing the most money you should be able to make is 10 million, the rest goes to charities. No more fucking billionaires who steal our wages (mininum wage should be 24$/hour but its gone down) we have been fucking robbed, EAT THE RICH.
