How to get Laid Off from Big Tech?
SITUATION: Big Tech Employee Recently Returned from a Military Deployment United States Employment Reemployment Relief Act (USERRA) Federal Law “protects service members from being terminated without cause (laid off) for 12 months after returning to work”. Employer recently culled almost 10% of workforce OBJECTIVE: I want to be Laid off to have a severance to cushion my transition to another civilian career. NOTE: Department of Labor confirmed I am allowed to waive my rights (USERRA) in order to be eligible to be laid off. QUESTION: Do I volunteer myself to be laid off in exchange for a severance package AND waiving my USERRA protection? How do I approach this subject with my chain of command in corporate?

And if you are always doing your best, it is no longer your best. It is your average. Never give 100% the reward for a job well done, is more work. Fuck the corporate stat race. I'm not playing. Probably shouldn't have said the title to the manager's face though.
This is a completely genuine question so please don’t think I’m trying to argue/troll! Americans are royally fucked over by their employers far too frequently, so I 100% understand the desire behind just slacking off until you’re fired so that you get the benefits that come with it or quitting on the spot if you find a new job… BUT doesn’t that make it harder for someone already disadvantaged to get themselves into a good position? You won’t get a reference and I know I personally would be afraid to put a job on my CV that ended on bad terms or that I was fired from, so I’m trying to understand how people go about this when they’re advised to slack off to be fired or quit sans notice. Do you not put the job on your resume? Do you put it on anyways? A lot of industries surely…
What should I do.
I’ve been working a Wendys for a few months and we are so understaffed that I have been working open to close for nearly a month and I told my manager that I need to work less hours and he dident care just got mad at me. I’m thinking of doing a no call no show tonight what do you think?
I am sick of work and smiling for the hierarchy, but I absolutely wanted to scream yesterday. My MAN manager gets praised for being “such a good dad 🥲” for sacrificing his time to take off when his kid is home sick. I had to do the literal same thing a week later, also took 3 days off, and I get called in and written up for it. I’m asked why I don’t have reliable childcare, and if my priorities as a mom are in the right place. We do not currently have an HR dept lmfao and I think they’re doing bullshit on purpose. I have it
