My job is cutting my pay because they forgot to put me on the shift I got hired for in the first place.

I got hired thru an employment agency to work at a tech company a year and half ago. The contract I signed was for $20/hr for the third shift. When I got brought in, they told me, without notice, that I would actually be on second shift for the first two weeks because no one was available to train me during the graveyard shift. I agreed because they said the pay rate would stay the same during it. Once my training was complete they never changed my schedule to the one I signed up for, even after I asked. I ended up keeping it because bills. Fast forward a year and a half later, I am still working the second shift at the original rate I signed up for. This Monday, I get a call from the agency saying that the company I physically work at had performed a pay…

Boss has started cracking down on Policies but it feels like it’s just on me.

Like today I came in with my usual jacket and was told “you can’t wear that, it has a hood.” When I asked her “Going forward will I no longer be allowed to wear my usual jackets?” They told me street wear was never acceptable I’m the policy hand book. Well for one I don’t think it’s street wear and 2 I’ve been working here for 2 years now and have never been told it was a problem. I even asked if it was ok around the time I was hired and told it was ok, so to come out of left field like this just kinda put a bad taste in my mouth. There’s also a no phone policy that they’re cracking down on as well but then I noticed my assistant manager on her her phone at her desk. I didn’t say anything bc I don’t wanna be…

I’m an entry level employee consistently left out of meetings for projects I’m involved in and I have no idea what’s going on. What’s the best way to let my supervisors know I should be included?

The issue I have with being left out is that I’m often given tasks with zero context and I’m often left confused about what I should be doing. My supervisor just thinks he can just give me tasks to keep me in the loop but I don’t like his communication style and I’m often hitting a wall from it. Basically if I had more context regarding conversations it would help me avoid making mistakes and know what I’m doing. What would be the best way to approach the higher ups that it’s necessary for me to be Included on projects they want me to do work on?

North Carolina Does not require people over 16 to have a break of any kind regardless of hours worked

Now working at a place that gives you a half hour break “at the beginning of your shift” (unpaid) then 7 hours with no breaks for rest or meals. Apparently this is legal.
