Wage discussion win!

I recently reconnected with a former coworker of mine. I left my position after 5.5yrs of working at the company where I had been repeatedly promised a promotion but never received it. I also hit a wall in my salary negotiations. The last conversation I had with them was in 2020 when after a year of record numbers they offered me a 2% raise conditional on me signing a draconian non compete and non disclosure agreement. I lawyered up and negotiated changed verbiage in the contracts and a bonus agreement but began my hunt for a new position. I found one and jumped ship with one bonus check under my belt. So to get back to my former colleague; she hit me up and asked how I was liking my new position. I found out that she had taken over my old roll. I asked her, with the caveat that…

Constructive Dismissal

Is it constructive Dismissal if my boss keeps telling me I should quit? I told them if they don’t want me working for them they could fire me but they refuse to do so & keep telling me I should find a new employer… This is making me want to leave I don’t want to work somewhere I’m not wanted… At this point I’m done with this company it’s starting to stress me out.

Soul Crushing Sunday fear has kicked in.

I refuse to live my life like this. Working 9-5, 5 days a week for the rest of my life. Soul crushing. This is not what Life is about. Life is short and we spend it doing things we don't like and are stuck in an endless cycle of dread and scrapping to get by. I want to feel human again and not like a machine. Life has to be better and I refuse to settle.

Do Uber drivers not know the company charges customers up the rear in fees?

Ordered some food on Uber and the driver canceled, just before he canceled he left a snarky message saying “next time you’ll learn to tip”. Unfortunately once the order is fulfilled, canceled, or driver cancels, any messages between you and the courier disappear otherwise I would’ve loved to share it with you guys. My thing is, we’re being raped in fees, like with my example $15 for a food delivery. Otherwise I’d love to tip. So why’s it on the customer to pay the employee their salary? I’m sorry to sound like a jerk but it’s not my fault Uber takes a huge chunk and gives the drivers not much out of that. I’d personally love it if the drivers got the majority of those insane fees but nope, we have to tip which results in drivers abruptly canceling and leaving disgruntled messages like that. What do y’all think?

Gotta Love Late Stage Capitalism

I've been working Human Resources for about a year and a half. My husband has been an Assistant Store Manager for a little over a year. We will be house hunting starting next month and my hopes aren't high. We may be in relative positions of power but our pay is shit and I'm at risk of losing my job because I put people first. My boss actually chewed me out for letting people be On Leave too long. What kills me is I'm well behind on paperwork because I'm the only person doing FMLA/ADA/LOA on an almost 4k person company with just MICROSOFT EXCEL to support me but you know, obviously I'm the problem right? for fucking trying? Thanks for reading my rant. If any of yall know that your company is hiring a Leave admin/associate in CO/remote, I'm absolutely looking to get out. I'm very comfy in US…

I’ve worked 12 days in a row all 9+ hours

Last day off was Wednesday the 18th, I’m an ASM at a huge convenience store chain, a day before my scheduled 2 days off, on the 23rd my boss, the store managers, father in law pass away and she immediately left to go to Tennessee, -we are in flordia- with her daughter in law who is another ASM, there is also another ASM, who was promoted to that a couple months ago, however she can’t “open” the store, I say it like that because we’re 24 hours, I mean ending the day and doing the morning paperwork and inventory reconciliation, therefore leaving me the only one capable of doing it, I’ve had to wake up at 4:30am, get there at 5, and not leave until 2, 3, or 4 o clock in the afternoon, today my Market Manager comes in and audits the store and I make a crisp 94%…
